Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary, located in Goa’s Western Ghats, is a 240-square-kilometer protected region famed for its diverse wildlife and breathtaking scenery. In 1969, Mollem National Park was designated as a wildlife refuge, which includes the following features:

  • Key attractions:
    • Dudhsagar Waterfalls: A spectacular 306-metre tiered cascade, ideal for trekking and photography.
      Visit Tambdi Surla Temple, a 12th-century Shiva temple with Kadamba architecture, and Devil’s Canyon, a natural wonder with crisscrossing rock formations and tumultuous river channels.
  • Wildlife includes leopards, elephants, spotted deer, gaurs (Indian bison), and more than 120 bird species.
